Mesmerizing UV Body Paintings by John Poppleton
Published Mar 16, 2023
Utah-based artist and photographer John Poppleton uses temporary fluorescent materials to paint colorful scenes on female bodies, and then captures them under black light to produce an incredible visual effect.
His striking compositions are inspired by the fascinating colors of nature and he is particularly drawn by the hues found in sunsets. From his website:
“The excitement and anticipation of the next lightning strike with its thunderous heart pounding report. Majestic waterfalls to sublime mountain skylines with their reflections in the still lakes found beneath them. From the eerie allurement of the Northern Lights to the cosmic artistry seen throughout the universe.
UV Bodyscapes combines the beauty of the female, and occasionally male, form with the splendor of God’s creations found in this world and worlds beyond.”
