If you’re anything like us, sometimes you do buy a book (or two) just because that cover looks so damn good. Here are some of our favorites this month.

Laline Paull’s first novel “The Bees”, tells the story of Flora 717, a sanitation worker bee doomed by her birth to the lowest caste of her community.
The simple yet striking black and yellow cover features a gold foil hive pattern with a clever cutout element that reveals part of the inner cover’s illustrated artwork

San Francisco-based studio Jason Schulte Design created this vibrant illustrated cover for ‘Write On’, a creative writing journal for kids published by Clarkson Potter and Penguin Random House.

The cover for ‘Almost Famous Women’ uses a similar approach and takes it even further with a fully hand-drawn / handmade aesthetic.
