MUI Coffee Roastery Branding & Packaging by Happycentro
Published Dec 13, 2024
MUI, a coffee roastery from Kanagawa, Japan, just got a fresh makeover thanks to the talented Italian studio Happycentro. The new look is a playful fusion of Italian and Japanese culture, with a retro cartoon character at the center of it all.
Happycentro drew inspiration from ‘Carosello,’ a 1960s Italian TV show that presented short stories and sketches using live action, puppetry and adorable animated mascots. This nostalgic touch from Italy pairs perfectly with Japan’s love for quirky characters, giving MUI’s brand identity a unique and memorable twist.
The packaging pops with an eye-catching red as the main color, while each coffee variety has its own custom illustration on the label that highlights its country of origin.
