The Mayan Batman & other works by Kimbal

Published Sep 30, 2016

Kimbal is a Mexican designer specializing in the creation of intricate repeating patterns. His pieces incorporate elements of Mexican folklore, textures and popular culture.

We’re particularly impressed with his ‘Batman Camazotz’ sculpture. The Camazotz is the Mayan ‘bat god’, which is associated with the night and the underworld, a fitting mashup with the iconic dark knight. The piece was created for the ‘Batman through the Mexican Creativity’ exhibition, organized by the Mexican Museum of Design and sponsored by Warner Bros Entertainment.
