The Knob 1 Low-Profile Keyboard by Ben Fryc
Published Sep 7, 2023
The Knob 1 is a sleek low-profile mechanical keyboard designed by Michigan-based creative director, 3D artist and motion designer Ben Fryc. Drawing inspiration from the work of companies like Apple, Braun, and Teenage Engineering, Ben combined classic and contemporary technology elements to craft a stunning keyboard that delivers both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
The Knob 1 features a metallic casing, custom keycaps, low-profile Gateron switches, two rotary knobs for volume control, scrolling and zooming functions and a USB-C port for fast charging. It also includes a small 100 x 310px vertical display. We are curious to see what types of customization options will be available for this compact display, and if it will support touch functionality.
Ben is currently working towards making the Knob 1 a reality, and hoping to launch his innovative keyboard by the end of 2024. You can stay in the loop by signing up here for regular updates on its development.
