Italian National Parks: Retro Badge Designs by Mattia Zingale
Published Apr 26, 2023
In this cool self-initiated project, Italian graphic designer Mattia Zingale created vintage-inspired badge designs for all National Parks in Italy. In his own words:
“I have always considered the imagery of US national parks as something that gave a strong personality to each of those nature reserves.”
“Each park has its own identity, rooted in decades, if not centuries, of history.”
“In Italy we have 25 national parks, one of which is now inactive, and we aim to establish new ones in the coming years. Some of these already have an identity, others do not. This is why I enjoyed designing a logo/badge for each of them: no rules, no institutional font, no color palette, no unique style. Just for fun.”
Each of the badges were expertly crafted by Mattia with a timeless aesthetic and illustrated elements that pay homage to the rich history of Italy’s National Parks.
