Xinyue Chen, also known by their artist moniker, Maiyashu, is an illustrator based in New York who creates stunning narrative-driven artworks. Their creations are a poetic exploration of identity, memories, emotions, and the profound connection between humans and the natural environment.
Maiyashu’s journey into the world of art began with a solid foundation in fine arts, a path that led them from the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing to the vibrant School of Visual Arts in New York. Since receiving her degrees Maiyashu has produced artwork for big clients including AARP, Asia Society, Future Islands, China Machine Press, HAZE Sounds Beijing and many others.
