Incredible Sculptural Portraits by Alejandro Monge

Published Sep 23, 2024

Alejandro Monge is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist who creates stunning large-scale sculptures. He draws inspiration from the chiaroscuro techniques of Caravaggio and the refined brushwork of John Singer Sargent to bring a painterly quality to his pieces.

To produce these unique sculptures, Alejandro uses materials such as fiberglass, concrete and pigments. His works feature debossed faces that appear to emerge from the materials themselves, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow.
