Group Session: Playful Short Film by Studio Mals & Setreset Films
Published May 8, 2024
“Group Session” is a whimsical animated short produced by Studio Mals and Setreset Films. The film, which features an adorable cast of puppets, made its debut at the opening of the 2024 OFFF Festival in Barcelona.
The story is beautifully set against a tactile and imaginative backdrop. It introduces us to Geoff, a young character who is grappling with his emotions and finds himself questioning if there’s something wrong with him. He seeks clarity through an unconventional group session with his favorite everyday tools, ultimately finding the comfort he needs.
Studio Mals and Setreset Films have brought this heartwarming tale to life entirely by hand using puppets, and everything is documented in a behind-the-scenes video which is just as interesting as the short film itself.
