Flowing Bricks: A Striking Cinema & Coffee Bar by One Plus Partnership
Published Nov 20, 2024
The Haikou Gaoxingli Insun Cinema & Coffee Bar is a fascinating interior design project by Hong Kong-based studio One Plus Partnership. Crafted entirely from bricks, the space features a monochrome look with flowing elements that mimic the look of ocean waves.
Using a jack-on-jack masonry pattern, the studio has created a space that produces a graceful interplay of light and shadow over elegant curves and sweeping forms. This design not only evokes a sense of movement but also blends aesthetic aspects with practical features, as bricks are used to form tables and seating that reflect the fluidity of waves.
