A New Chapter in Animation

Unveiled by Procreate CEO and Co-founder James Cuda on September 8th, 2023, Procreate Dreams is an all-new animation app packed with powerful features that can be used by anyone, regardless of their level of expertise. The app aims to democratize the animation process, allowing users to easily create engaging hand-drawn animations and motion graphics.

Dreams is set to be a comprehensive platform designed to cater to the needs of both professional animators and beginners. With touch at its core, the new app introduces innovative tools like “Performing”, which empower users to automatically insert keyframes into their projects using gestures. By recording the animator’s actions in real-time, Procreate promises a paradigm shift in the way creatives animate by allowing them to respond to their project instantly during playback.

At the heart of Procreate Dreams lies the Multi-touch Timeline which acts as a central hub for drawing, cel animation, keyframing, video editing, and compositing – all made possible through intuitive gestures that will make the process much faster than using a traditional mouse and keyboard setup.

The Flipbook tool is a tribute to traditional animation, offering a streamlined user interface akin to Procreate’s beloved Animation Assist feature from their original app. It is ideal for crafting short animated GIFs, intricate character animations, and beyond.

There’s been a lot of excitement around Dreams since its announcement, and the much-anticipated app is set to hit the market on November 22, 2023. This is looking to be a game-changer in the animation industry, and we can’t wait to try it out. Similarly to its illustration predecessor, Procreate Dreams will be available on the App Store for a single-time purchase of $19.99 USD, with no hidden charges or subscription fees.
