Coexistence: Digital Aerochrome Photos by Pierre-Louis Ferrer

Published Nov 29, 2024

Coexistence is a fascinating series by Paris-based photographer Pierre-Louis Ferrer, exploring the delicate balance between humans and nature. Through his lens, Pierre examines how the two interact in our modern environment, sometimes in harmony, sometimes in conflict.

To bring this concept to life, Pierre uses digital aerochrome imagery, a technique that relies on infrared photography. This method, often used for mapping natural areas, captures infrared light reflected by plants, turning them into intense shades of red. The result is a surreal visual effect with striking contrasts. By stripping things down to this simplified color palette, he makes us take a moment to notice how plants adapt and thrive, even in the most unexpected places.
