Chivo Taqueria Branding by Alessandra Mejia

Published Sep 5, 2024

Peruvian art director and graphic designer Alessandra Mejia created this vibrant new identity for Chivo, a taqueria located in downtown Boston. The name “Chivo” is derived from the expression “¡Qué Chivo!” meaning “How cool!”, an idea that sets the tone for the lively and authentic dining experience that patrons can expect from the restaurant.

Alessandra aimed to capture the warmth and festive spirit of Chivo’s Mexican and Salvadoran roots, while infusing the brand with a modern flair. The visual identity brings together bold colors, dynamic typography and handcrafted imagery reminiscent of the lively street markets of Latin America.
