Breeze by ARTechnic Architects
Published Mar 11, 2013
“Breeze” is an impressive complex of terrace houses designed by Japanese studio ARTechnic Architects.
“The entrances of the building are surrounded by subtle cracks on the imposing walls in concrete. Inside one immediately encounters the first strong contrast: the spaces open up like a cave with an enormous and airy interior, illuminated by a faint glow.
‘Breeze’ is a relaxing getaway from the chaotic city, though it rises in the pulsing heart of Tokyo. From the street it’s immediately evident how its walls speak a different language from the normal architectural lexicon of the surroundings. A mysterious and inviting alphabet, designed and lit like a modest temple of tranquility.”
