Amusing Animal Illustrations by Manda Comisari

We’re loving this series of playful animal portraits by Manda Comisari, an illustrator and author from California, currently based in London.

“I specialize in gouache on paper and my work is bright, contemporary, and playful.”

“I have a particular affinity for illustrating the animal kingdom — not surprising when you consider that growing up, my dad worked as a building repairer at the Los Angeles Zoo and I was his frequent tag along! Some of my favorite memories include playing fetch with the resident dingo (after hours) and helping the zoo’s veterinarians make popsicles for the apes.”

Manda’s latest project is a book called ‘Unusual Animal Messages’, which will be published on November 8th by Ryland Peters & Small/CICO Books.

The project will also feature 52 illustrated cards of “uncommon and occasionally overlooked animals that can provide powerful messages”. You can find out more here.
