The 1935 Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Aerodynamica Spider is a beautiful piece of automotive design and a car that was ahead of its time – mid engine, central driving position and aerodynamic pontoon body work.
“The Alfa designer Vittorio Jano was inspired to try a mid-engine layout having seen the Auto Union GP cars of ’34 and enlisted the help of the Hungarian Jankovitz brothers, who were close friends with Paul Jaray, the leading aerodynamicist and designer of the Tatra streamlined car.”
