aBiogenesis: Captivating Animation by Markos Kay
Published Mar 15, 2023
Inspired by the concept of Abiogenesis, UK-based digital artist Markos Kay has created a stunning animation and series of images that explore the origins of life. Using computer-generated imagery, Kay takes us on a mesmerizing journey through his interpretation of the primordial soup. From his website:
“Abiogenesis is the study of how life originated on Earth. It is a complex and mysterious subject, and scientists have proposed many different theories to try to understand how life first emerged.”
Drawing on scientific theories about the emergence of life on Earth, Kay’s work is both visually striking and intellectually engaging. His animation depicts organic forms swirling and expanding in an otherworldly environment, holding our attention every step of the way as they move across the screen.
Through his work, Kay invites us to ponder some fundamental questions about our existence: how did life begin? What were the conditions that allowed it to emerge? And what might this tell us about our place in the universe?
