A New Way to See Time: The ARROWatch by Ion Lucin

Published Jun 10, 2025

The ARROWatch is a bold reinterpretation of how we read time. Designed by Ion Lucin, this geometric watch ditches the usual hands-and-numbers setup in favor of something a little more abstract. Instead of relying on familiar hands to point at static hour markers, Ion introduces a rotating dial with partial visibility, guiding your eye using a sharply designed arrow.

It might seem puzzling at first glance, but that’s kind of the point. The face is divided into eight transparent wedges, only partially revealing printed time markers placed around the watch’s perimeter. The arrow, formed by vibrant colored segments, points toward the current time in a way that feels more intuitive than expected. It’s subtle, clean and visually striking.

Beyond the visual experiment, the ARROWatch is built to last featuring Swiss quartz movement, a scratch-resistant sapphire-coated crystal, 316L stainless steel body and a ten-year battery. This unique timepiece is currently live on Indiegogo, where backers can pick one up in five different colorways.
