Wood & Glass Sculptures by Scott Slagerman

To create the mesmerizing sculptures in his Wood & Glass collection, American artist Scott Slagerman draws the designs on to the wood, cuts the pieces out using traditional woodworking techniques and blows the molten glass directly into the cutout shapes to combine the contrasting materials.

“Scott Slagerman has always been captivated by glass – how it is transformed from a fragile, yet unyielding solid state to molten fluidity and back again; and how this mutable substance, though a process that is both delicate and dangerous, can create objects both essential and esoteric.
