We are nature: Double-Exposure Photos by Christoffer Relander

‘We are nature’ is a series of experimental composites by Christoffer Relander (previously), combining human portraits with natural elements like leaves, branches, flowers and butterflies.

In an interview with Colossal, he explains that his methods had to change from being entirely shot on camera as a double-exposure to a digital composite approach, due to the ongoing pandemic and the limited time we can have outdoors:

“I decided, however, to still bring inspiration from both the multiple exposure film algorithms (negative film) and some basic darkroom techniques.”
