A Contemporary Take on Italian Heritage for Tondo Restaurant & Bar
Published Feb 5, 2026
Turkish studio W Design Bureau created this charmingly retro visual identity for Tondo, a contemporary restaurant and bar in Saint Petersburg. Drawing from Italian graphic heritage of the 1960s and 70s, the identity has a confident, system-driven feel and plenty of nostalgic flair.
The custom logotype and sun-inspired symbol are complemented by symmetrical layouts, bold typography and a bright color palette of red, green and warm neutrals. Everything from the menus to the uniforms to the signage ties together seamlessly, showcasing die-cut shapes, badge-like motifs and some embossed details. The unique identity also extends into the restaurant’s atmosphere, with vintage-inspired fixtures, printed materials and spatial graphics, creating a warm, memorable environment.
