Thought-Provoking Sculptures by He Xiangyu
Published May 24, 2024
He Xiangyu is a Chinese artist and documentary filmmaker who splits his time between Berlin and Beijing. Having witnessed the profound transformations in Chinese society over the years, his work is deeply rooted in his unique cultural experiences. He’s art spans various media including painting, sculpture, installation, video, and publication, yet it is his sculptures that have particularly captured our attention.
The artist’s pieces are reflections of the geopolitical and historical turbulence he has observed throughout his life. His sculptural works dislocate materials from their conventional contexts, allowing viewers to experience physical and mental perceptions in new and intimate ways.
You can discover more of He Xiangyu’s work by visiting White Space Gallery’s website.
