The Reverse Perspective Paintings of Patrick Hughes
Published Feb 7, 2023
London-based artist Patrick Hughes creates reverse perspective paintings that must be seen to be believed. His artwork, which is a combination of painting and sculpture, creates an astonishing three-dimensional illusion when viewed from the correct angle. His optical illusions are made up of multiple overlapping shapes and colors that appear flat from the front perspective but come alive when viewed from the side at a specific angle.
The effect is absolutely mesmerizing and has earned him a reputation as one of the most unique contemporary artists in London today. His work has been exhibited in galleries around the world and won numerous awards for their precise technique and ability to challenge viewers’ perception of reality.
With each piece he produces, Patrick Hughes continues to break boundaries between painting and sculpture while pushing visual perception to its limits.
