Surreal Photo Manipulations by Erik Johansson
Published Dec 13, 2018
Swedish photographer and visual artist Erik Johansson creates outstanding imaginary worlds by digitally manipulating his photos.
“Johansson picked up his interest for retouching while studying computer engineering. He is not just a great photographer but also an amazing retoucher which allows him to come up with almost anything that anyone can ever imagine. Having an understanding of each step of the process gives him total control of the whole work process, from sketch to final image, to ensure a high quality realistic result.
Sometimes he uses hundreds of individual images to make one piece of art. This technique lets him create virtually anything imaginable. The reality becomes impossible, the perspective is often misleading and the laws of physics do not necessarily work here. Johansson brilliantly creates a sense of wonder, using his meticulous approach to ideas and work.”
