New York-based artist Michael Mapes creates deconstructed portraits that are part collage, part sculpture and all creative. He uses photographs and scraps from everyday objects such as glass vials, insect pins and dried grains to create intricate works of art.
His meticulously detailed pieces provide a fascinating glimpse into the mind of the artist – no two will ever be exactly alike as Mapes brings something special to every work he creates.
