Shaping Spaces with Light: Meagan Streader’s Immersive Works
Published Aug 22, 2025
Australian artist Meagan Streader transforms environments with light and color, creating immersive installations that reframe how we perceive form and space. Working with electroluminescent wire, neon and custom lighting systems, her pieces bend lines of light into geometric patterns, glowing structures and illusions that alter depth and dimension.
Her large-scale works are minimal in form yet rich in atmosphere, echoing both the rigidity of architectural grids and the fluidity of movement. From luminous walls of color to suspended waveforms, her practice turns industrial and often raw settings into surreal, dreamlike landscapes.
The Melbourne-based artist has exhibited widely across Australia and internationally, with projects ranging from gallery-based installations to site-specific interventions. Each piece expands on her ongoing exploration of light as a sculptural medium, revealing its power to both disrupt and transform.
