Red Pockets by Leaping Creative
Published May 7, 2018
Multidisciplinary Chinese studio Leaping Creative created these striking envelopes or ‘pockets’, traditionally presented as monetary gifts at social and family gatherings such as weddings or holidays such as Chinese New Year.
“The bold design of the set of red pockets has its idea drawn from ‘Happiness and Prosperity’,a popular Cantonese saying during Chinese New Year that indicates the good wishes for both prosperity and integrity. We introduce the traditional elements of Waves, Bamboos, Fireworks, Wind, Swallows and Fishes, while adapting fluorescent magenta color together with gilding, with the intention of presenting a distinctive image of traditional red pockets.”
