Psychedelic Artworks by JUM
Published Mar 22, 2024
JUM, aka Julia Marinelli, is a Hong Kong-based Brazilian artist who creates mesmerizing psychedelic artworks. With a background in multimedia and digital mediums, her creations are a colorful journey into the depths of the mind and the cosmos, bridging the gap between reality and the surreal.
“The phrase ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ always made a lot of sense to me – maybe because I always had an imagination that I sometimes found hard to understand, so the act of creating something was the best way I found to express myself.”
JUM’s creations feature vivid colors, intricate patterns and fluid forms that seem to dance across the canvas. Her work has been showcased in various exhibitions and venues across Hong Kong, from the dynamic spaces of Shady Acres, where her designs have even graced the menu, to the esteemed Odds and Ends gallery, which presented her solo exhibition “Frenzy in the Wild.” Each showing has offered audiences a glimpse into JUM’s rich inner world, where nature, human consciousness and digital landscapes converge.
