Powerful Illustrations by Jiji

Published Nov 24, 2023

Vietnamese artist and graphic designer Jiji creates a diverse range of artwork that encompasses both deep, dark illustrations exploring the complexities of human emotions and lighthearted, whimsical pieces. Through her use of color, texture and organic line work she developed a unique style that is instantly recognizable as her own.

Her illustrations often delve deep into the human condition, exploring themes of love, loss and the complexities of existence. Despite their sometimes dark subject matter, Jiji’s illustrations are imbued with a sense of hope. She achieves this balance by contrasting dark, muted tones with bursts of vibrant color. This approach not only adds depth and dimension to her illustrations but also symbolizes the dualities of life — the interplay of light and dark, joy and sorrow, life and death.
