Polestar Fenrir: An Electric Hot Rod by Henrique Alves

The Polestar Fenrir is an electric hot rod concept car envisioned by Portuguese designer Henrique Alves.

This striking design is Henrique’s entry into the 2024 Polestar Design Contest. This year’s competition posed a unique challenge to designers worldwide: to conceive a four-wheeled vehicle that weaves “Polestar’s design DNA into their vision of the ultimate Hot Wheels collectible.”

Henrique faced an intriguing challenge from the outset. “At the beginning of my exploration of a Polestar Hot Rod, I was having difficulty escaping the North American aesthetic that these vehicles tend to have,” he shared. This led him to realize he needed to blend the traditional hot rod essence with Polestar’s distinctive, modern design language.

As he continued his exploration, the Polestar Fenrir began to take shape. “Once I found a way that combined the ‘Hot Rod’ concept with a more distinctive Polestar shape, I stuck with that concept.”. The result is an electric hot rod that merges the futuristic vision of Polestar with the bold, rebellious spirit of Hot Wheels.
