Polestar 1:1: A Track Concept Focused on Pure Performance
Published Apr 24, 2026
Belgian designer Jeroen Claus conceived the Polestar 1:1 as his entry to the Polestar Design Contest, a single-seat electric track car designed around one deceptively simple equation: one kilowatt of power for every kilogram of weight.
That ratio becomes the concept’s governing logic, and everything else follows. The body uses optimised flax fibre composites, durable, lightweight and low-impact, keeping mass to a minimum without compromising structural integrity. Active Aero surfaces flex and adapt electronically, shaping airflow in real time, while the drivetrain distributes torque across each wheel with the same level of precision. Driver information flows into both a widescreen dashboard and a helmet-mounted HUD, collapsing the distance between the car’s data and the driver’s instincts.
What Claus is really proposing here is a reframe: that performance and responsibility aren’t opposing forces. The 1:1 carries a zero-carbon footprint, yet it remains focused on the thrill of driving.
