Photographer Serhii Fett Erases the Face to Sharpen the Idea

Serhii Fett is a Ukrainian visual artist and photographer who combines carefully staged photos with a dash of Photoshop magic (and no AI) to produce surreal visual illusions. Working across studio setups, natural landscapes and urban environments, the Germany-based artist turns ordinary objects, bodies and surroundings into strange, dreamlike scenes.

Across his portfolio, Serhii experiments with the recurring idea of a body, carefully dressed and posed, with its head replaced by something else entirely. His practice is an ongoing exploration of duality and what he describes as the unexpected beauty it can reveal. Despite some recurring themes, his work isn’t organized into rigid series. Instead, he approaches photography as an expanding visual collection, continually searching for new ways to “open the door to the invisible” and create a dialogue between viewers and whatever might exist beyond the obvious.
