Night Photography by Pierre Putman
Published Sep 17, 2020
Belgian photographer Pierre Putman explores cities at night to capture images full of intrigue and atmosphere.
“His visual aesthetics, mostly dark and moody, bring a certain romanticism to the isolated landscapes he captures.
Putman is drawn to hidden cinematic scenes and the aesthetics of artificial light that become apparent at night. Deserted streets and retreating figures become backdrops for narratives and storylines. Shrouded in shadows and mystery, the high contrast mise-en-scène could easily pass off as film noir stills. His objective is to produce mysterious imagery, evocative and intriguing.”
