Mountains of Switzerland: Photos by Jennifer Esseiva

Landscape photographer Jennifer Esseiva captured the majestic beauty of the Swiss Alps in her breathtaking series, “Mountains of Switzerland.”

Jennifer’s photographic journey begins with the otherworldly ice caves of Zinal and Arolla. These natural wonders look like alien structures where the ice walls shimmer with an ethereal glow. But a quick glance outside these caves reveals the stark, wild and sometimes dangerous landscape that surrounds them. Tragically, the Arolla ice cave collapsed in 2022, and Jennifer might have been one of the last photographers lucky enough to capture its otherworldly beauty.

Continuing her journey, Jennifer takes us to the awe-inspiring Aletsch Glacier, as seen from the heights of the Jungfraujoch, often referred to as the “Top of Europe.” This easily accessible vantage point offers unparalleled views of the glacier’s intricate details, leaving visitors in a state of awe.

The final leg of this visual odyssey brings us to the dramatic peaks of Leukerbad. Whether shrouded in thick fog reminiscent of a scene from “The Lord of the Rings” or bathed in sunlight with waterfalls cascading down their slopes, the mountains of this valley are nothing short of mesmerizing.
