Minimal Nature: Animal-Inspired Furniture & Lighting by Femo Design
Published Jan 20, 2026
Chinese designer Femo Wong approaches furniture and lighting through disciplined reduction. While browsing his collection, we were drawn to a series of animal-inspired pieces that translate familiar forms into pared-back objects. From his studio in Shenzhen, he distills animals into clear geometric cues, letting each piece hint at its reference with extreme simplicity.
That approach runs through designs like the Toucan Table Lamp, Little Elephant Chair, Snake Chair and Duck Lamp, which you can see below. He starts with a recognizable animal silhouette, then refines it into balanced volumes, controlled curves and stable proportions. Materials reinforce the visual metaphors, combining upholstered surfaces, pale woods, stone-like finishes, and restrained metals to add weight and tactility without visual noise.
You can explore more of Femo Wong’s work on his studio’s website.
