Me, Myself and I: Sculptural Self-Portraits by Chris Labrooy

Chris Labrooy‘s latest series, “Me, Myself and I,” is an amusing collection of digital self-portraits.

The idea for the project came about when Chris started playing around with 3D scanning on his iPhone. He was surprised at how good the results turned out, which got him thinking about creating a series of self-portraits. He then used a combination of head scans and 3D-modeled outfits to create this cool collection of images.

The first portrait in the series features the Porsche 911, a car that has always been a source of inspiration for Chris throughout his career. In this portrait, you can see several versions of Chris coming together to form the shape of the car, each one holding important parts like the tyres, headlights and even the roof.

The second portrait shows Chris’ clones jamming out with boomboxes, turntables and synths on a Volkswagen T3 Transporter, and the final one recalls a personal memory from a trip to Berlin. During a particularly snowy winter, Chris found himself stranded in the city, because his flights kept getting canceled. He remembers wandering around in those classic ivory Mercedes taxis, and that gave him inspiration for this final piece.
