Lively Character-Driven Illustrations by Peilin Li
Published Mar 2, 2026
Peilin Li is a Los Angeles-based illustrator and designer at BUCK whose work spans editorial, advertising and branding for clients like Disney, Huawei and Farfetch.
Her work translates the chaos of everyday life into organized, vibrant compositions shaped by grainy textures and bold, rhythmic forms. She creates character-driven scenes through a lens of “exaggerated reality,” where elongated limbs and flattened perspectives create a sense of whimsical motion.
Her portfolio shows an impressive range. She moves seamlessly between the warm, overgrown fantasia of an enchanted forest, the raw jagged energy of a punk performance, and the wry spectacle of a giant baseball pitcher looming over his own fans. Each scenario carries a distinct tone, and she hits them all without losing her voice.
