Land & Water: Striking Sculptures by Ben Young
Published Feb 5, 2024
Ben Young‘s extraordinary work never ceases to captivate us as he continues to produce beautiful sculptures that harmoniously combine the contrasting elements of glass and concrete. Born and raised in New Zealand, and now residing in Sydney, Australia, Ben’s deep bond with the ocean and nature is prominently reflected in his art, which incorporates these themes to produce visually impressive pieces.
A self-taught artist, Ben begins his creative process with sketches before meticulously crafting each of his sculptural works. Each piece of glass is hand-cut and layered to form structures that mimic the fluidity and movement of water. These glass pieces are then set into concrete bases, which often depict mountains and rugged landscapes. Most of his sculptures also include small bronze carvings that are used by the artist to help complete the narrative.
You can find more of Ben Young’s incredible work on his website, Behance and Instagram.
