Manila-based artist Herschel Shapiro combines innovation and creation to produce abstract 3D-printed sculptures that explore movement, rhythm, and light.
Herschel’s practice is inspired by the dynamic patterns of air and water flow in nature. His mesmerizing sculptures are crafted using a novel 3D printing process, which combines several geometric elements to create visually stunning art that challenges our conventional perception of space and form.
One of our favorite pieces, “Maelstrom,” captures the swirling motion of a powerful vortex. The artwork features a gradient of blues that mirror the tumultuous beauty of a maelstrom, showcasing Shapiro’s ability to harness the power of nature in his works.
