Iconic TV Characters Illustrated by Aliz Buzas
Published May 14, 2026
Vienna-based freelance illustrator Aliz Buzas has created this charming series of character portraits drawn from some of television’s most beloved figures, including Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope from Parks & Recreation, the shrewd detective Columbo, and Agatha Christie’s meticulous Hercule Poirot.
Aliz draws the portraits with a few sharp visual cues that make them instantly recognizable, while adding her own spin through a clean, flat style. The sketched backgrounds add another layer of context, using pale line drawings to hint at offices, crime scenes, city streets and familiar props without pulling attention away from the figures.
The light, poster-like quality of the series fits neatly with the sense of playfulness she describes in her practice, where line, pattern and humor are woven into colorful images.
