Fragmented Three-Dimensional Paintings by Chris Dorosz
Published Jan 20, 2025
Canadian-American artist Chris Dorosz creates stunning hybrid artworks that merge painting and sculpture. Much like a sculptor shaping clay, he builds his striking forms by layering dabs of paint. Using materials like suspended plastic rods or monofilaments as his canvas, Chris carefully drips acrylic paint or applies brushstrokes to craft fragmented portraits and abstract pieces that seem to float in mid-air.
His incredible creations encourage viewers to discover new perspectives as they move around the work. Up close, the pieces look like pixelated images, but when you step back, they transform into hauntingly lifelike shapes.
