Form Follows Comfort: 3D Artworks by Five Three Five Design
Published Jul 15, 2024
“Form Follows Comfort” is a series of experimental digital artworks with a Bauhaus aesthetic. The series was created by talented designer and 3D artist Tania Kalina, the founder of New York City studio Five Three Five Design.
The project is a powerful reminder of the enduring influence of the Bauhaus movement, known for its focus on functionality, simplicity and geometric forms. Tania’s creations pay homage to these principles while introducing a fresh, modern look. In this series, she used 3D modeling and soft body simulation to craft colorful pillow-like sculptures. In her own words:
“The color palette and patterns directly reference the classic Bauhaus movement, yet are reinterpreted with a modern aesthetic.”
“These pieces explore this historical design movement showcasing how timeless aesthetics can be reinterpreted using today’s tools.”
