‘Forest Dancer’ Brings Light, Creativity & Connection to Quoz Arts Festival in Dubai

This year’s Quoz Arts Festival in Dubai saw the jaw-dropping debut of Forest Dancer, the latest monumental creation by art and technology studio ENESS. The immersive installation featured a towering 9-metre-tall archway that transformed the façade of the impressive Concrete building, designed by OAM Architecture, into a vibrant portal. Soft, fleshy arches radiated outward, drawing visitors into a playful yet thoughtful reimagining of the sleek original architecture.

Once inside, visitors were treated to a multi-sensory experience that combined light, sound and touch. At the center of it all stood the 8-metre Forest Dancer, a figure whose skirt flared into a dome-like space filled with LED-eyed beanbags. These quirky seats invited visitors to relax and soak in the mesmerizing interplay of pulsating lights and sounds, offering a moment of joy and connection. Surrounding this focal point were other interactive pieces, like the whimsical Whispering Mountains and eccentric Stick Insects, all inspired by the Arabic proverb and curatorial theme, “A hut holds a thousand friends.”

More than just eye candy, Forest Dancer offered a subtle commentary on our screen-obsessed world and the growing disconnect in our daily lives. By encouraging people to slow down and interact with the art and everyone around them, ENESS delivered a powerful message about the importance of creativity and human connection.
