Ford E-Bike Concept
Published Sep 26, 2011
Ford has just unveiled this sleek and minimal electric bike concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The awesome E-Bike concept was created to demonstrate how Ford’s design language can translate to a bicycle. Unfortunately the company has no plans to put it in production.
“The trapezoidal frame is made from aluminum and carbon composite, sporting six-spoke V-design wheels, a hidden carbon belt drive system, a Shimano Alfine 11-speed internal gear hub, a Shimano Rapidfire shifter, an electric powertrain with a motor in the front wheel hub and a lithium ion battery that is said to have a range of slightly more than 50 miles per charge.”
From the press release:
“Designed to show how the company’s design language can translate to a bicycle, the Ford E-Bike Concept also demonstrates the spectrum of Ford’s electric mobility competence. Ford has no plans to produce the E-Bike but will continue studying the concept along with other future mobility solutions.”
