Expressive Illustrated Portraits by Hurca
Published Feb 9, 2026
Italian artist Hurca (Mirko Grisendi) is back with another round of striking illustrated portraits. In his work, faces are broken into bold planes of color, pushed and pulled by sharp lighting, graphic overlays and fragments of geometry.
His approach blends digital and analog methods, mixing painterly brushwork with graphic elements borrowed from comics, cinema and contemporary design. Color shifts from punchy neon to more neutral, desaturated tones, while abstract shapes and typographic marks move in and out of the compositions.
Beyond the finished images, Hurca enjoys sharing how the work comes together. On his YouTube channel, he walks through each step, from early sketches to final rendering, offering a clear look at how these visuals evolve.
You can explore more of Mirko’s art and process on his website, Instagram, Behance and YouTube.
