The latest version of JSAUX’s popular multifunctional dock introduces some cool new features (no pun intended).
JSAUX certainly isn’t afraid to try new things and iterate on their products when it comes to accessories for handheld gaming devices, and their latest release, the 7-in-1 RGB Cooling Docking Station, is no exception.
Following up on the 6-in-1 dock, which we’ve reviewed here, this upgraded version adds some key new features, including cooling fans and flashy RGB lighting, all while keeping the same modular, multifunctional design of the original.
In this review, I’ll delve into the revamped design and new features, to help you figure out if this is something worth looking into for your gaming setup.

What’s in the box?
Inside the box, you get an RGB stand, a detachable USB-C hub, a dual-fan cooling module, a 90-degree USB-C adapter, and some product cards like the user manual and warranty details. The stand also comes with a small silicone sleeve that can be used to secure smaller devices. Just keep in mind, like most docks out there, this one doesn’t include a power supply or HDMI cable, so you’ll need to grab those separately.

Specs & Ports
This new dock is compatible with popular handhelds like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally X and Lenovo Legion Go. It should also work with a bunch of others too, as long as they fit into the 1 inch (~2.6cm) slot at the base.
The specs are pretty much in line with the 6-in-1 version, offering 100W PD fast charging and support for up to 4K at 120Hz. But this new model also introduces support for advanced gaming features like VRR and ALLM, which is fantastic.

The base is larger than the previous one and it’s now made of an aluminum alloy instead of plastic. The unit is also heavier than the original, mainly due to the new RGB lighting components and cooling fan attachment.

Design & Build Quality
This new dock keeps the modular and compact design of its predecessor, but there are some key changes. The first noticeable difference is the base/stand, which is now larger and crafted from an aluminum alloy that is cool to the touch.

One of the main shortcomings I found with the previous version was that the base was a bit too narrow/small and didn’t provide enough stability for bigger handhelds. The new model has a slightly wider, taller and much deeper base, which is definitely better, but it’s still not quite perfect.

While testing the dock with my Ally X I noticed that there was still a gap inside the main slot. So it still doesn’t feel 100% secure, as there’s potential for the the handheld to fall off if you accidentally bump into it.
There’s a small rubber sleeve included in the package, which can be used to accommodate thinner handhelds like the original Ally, but it’s not the right fit for the Ally X, so I didn’t use it at all during my review.

On the other hand, if you’re using a case with your Ally X, like JSAUX’s own ModCase or the Skull & Co GripCase, the device fits like a glove and feels way more stable, so I’d definitely recommend doing that.

Overall, I think JSAUX has made some progress with this design, but there’s still room for improvement. New handhelds coming to the market seem to be getting bigger and bigger, so future versions of the stand could use an even more stable base.
For the RGB fans out there, this dock has bright, vibrant lights, and you have 5 modes to choose from (gradient, monochrome, breathing, chasing and stacking). You can cycle through these modes by pressing the button on the right side of the stand, and the lights can also be completely turned off by holding the button down for a few seconds.

USB-C Hub
The detachable USB-C hub module is similar to the one that comes with the 6-in-1 version of the product, with the same selection of ports. But this time it comes with an extra USB-C port at the bottom for connecting it to the RGB stand. JSAUX has also upgraded the design, replacing the plastic shell with aluminum, so the entire unit has a more premium feel.

The best thing about this modular design is that you can use this hub on its own, detached from the base and fans, as a standalone USB-C hub for other devices like a laptop.
Cooling System
The standout addition to this dock is definitely the dual fan cooling module, which snaps magnetically into place and is powered by a USB-C connection on the left side of the RGB base.

This module is super easy to snap on and off, and some strong magnets keep it firmly in place once mounted. You can turn the fans on and off by pressing the button at the top of this module.

The two fans also have some RGB lights, but unlike the ones at the base these can’t be turned off, so you’ll want to keep that in mind if RGB isn’t your thing.

Performance
Performance-wise, the 7-in-1 dock delivers up to 4K resolution at 120Hz, just like the original. But this new model now comes with support for features like VRR, ALLM, HDR and QFT, so it’s definitely a step up. Just make sure to use an HDMI 2.1 cable if you want to maximize its potential when hooking it up to an external monitor.
With this dock, you will also be able to run the Ally X at 30W TDP in turbo or manual mode, as long as you use it with a 100W charger.

But the key selling point here is of course the new fan module, which promises better cooling efficiency and improved performance. This is designed to align perfectly with the vents on the back of the Ally X, so cooling efficiency might not be the same when used with other handhelds.

The fans do a great job of keeping your handheld cool with strong airflow, but they can be a bit noisy. If you usually play with headphones, this won’t bother you, but it’s something worth mentioning since there’s no option to adjust the fan speed via software or a physical control.

Although the fan module does provide some effective cooling, don’t expect any earth-shattering results. During my benchmark testing, I noticed consistent drops in CPU, GPU and SSD temperatures, but they stayed within single digits. You’ll also see a small boost in performance, which is definitely a plus when you’re trying to get every ounce of power out of your handheld.

Pricing
Priced at $55.99, the JSAUX 7-in-1 RGB Cooling dock is a bit more expensive than the 6-in-1 model, which is currently on sale for $34.99. Whether or not it’s worth the extra spend will depend on your preferences. If you want to extract every little bit of performance out of your device while running it a bit cooler, and take advantage of features like VRR and ALLM, it might be worth picking it up over the previous version.

Pros & Cons
Here’s a summary of the pros and cons of the 7-in-1 RGB Cooling Docking Station:
Pros:
- Modular and versatile
- Good selection of ports
- Supports 4K at 120Hz or 1080p at 240Hz via HDMI 2.1
- Supports VRR and ALLM
- Dedicated fan helps keep your handheld cool
- Fast charging with 100W PD
- Compatible with the ROG Ally X, original ROG Ally, Steam Deck, Legion Go and other handhelds on the market
Cons:
- The base/stand could still be improved for better stability.

Conclusion
Overall, the JSAUX 7-in-1 RGB Cooling Dock improves on its predecessor by introducing new features and more premium materials. The cooling module delivers some decent airflow, as well as a small bump in performance.
The stand’s stability, however, could still use some work, especially as handheld devices continue to get bigger and heavier. Even so, if you’re looking for a compact, all-in-one dock for your gaming setup, this is a solid choice that delivers great value for its features.
