The Audubon Photography Awards is a North American bird photography competition established 14 years ago by the National Audubon Society, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats.

This year’s edition of the awards featured some of the most stunning images of North American birds. From a pool of 2,200 entries from all 50 states, Washington D.C., and 8 Canadian provinces and territories, judges selected winning entries and honorable mentions across five divisions, awarding an overall total of eight prizes.

Liron Gertsman won the Grand Prize with his stunning photograph of two rock pigeons (cover image), and the overal professional winner was Shane Kalyn‘s “Atlantic Puffin” image.
