AYANEO AM01S Retro Mini PC Launches with a Flip-Screen Design and Plenty of Power

AYANEO has officially unveiled the AM01S, the successor to their popular AM01 retro mini PC. First teased in 2024, the new model is now available for pre-order on Indiegogo, combining updated hardware with a unique flip screen design.

The AM01S keeps the nostalgic Macintosh-inspired shell of its predecessor but adds a clever flip-up display. This 4-inch touchscreen provides quick access to system controls, mode switching and real-time monitoring without the need for a separate monitor. It also works as a native Windows extended display and supports custom widgets and dynamic screensavers for extra personalization.

Inside, the AM01S is a big step up from the original. Configurations include either the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 or Ryzen 7 8745HS, paired with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. On the connectivity front, the device offers Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, multiple USB-C and USB-A ports, dual 2.5G Ethernet ports, two HDMI outputs (2.0 or 2.1 depending on the chipset), plus an audio jack and SD card slot.

The AM01S starts at $349 for the barebone Ryzen 7 8745HS version, with top-tier configurations going up to $999. Shipping is expected to begin later this year, right before the holiday season.
