Analogue’s sleek recreation of the N64 fully revealed, launching early 2025

Published Oct 17, 2024

After teasing the console last year, the company has finally revealed the Analogue 3D in all its glory.

The Analogue 3D is an ambitious reimagining of the classic Nintendo 64, and it will allow players to relive the classics in stunning 4K resolution. Pre-orders are starting on October 21, with the console set to launch in the first quarter of 2025.

One of the key features of the Analogue 3D is the ability to upscale original Nintendo 64 game cartridges to 4K resolution, offering ten times the resolution of the original N64.

This is made possible through a bespoke 4K upscaler paired with FPGA technology, which ensures 100% compatibility with every N64 game, something that’s been notoriously difficult to achieve through traditional emulation. This technology will allow players to enjoy an experience free from input lag and graphics issues, bringing games to life with the same precision as the original hardware intended.

The console will also feature the new “3D OS,” an evolution of Analogue’s previous operating systems, now designed specifically for the Analogue 3D. The system will include a number of modern quality of life improvements like save states and screenshot capabilities.

In a nod to the N64’s “gold standard of multiplayer” gaming, the Analogue 3D supports up to four players and comes equipped with four original-style controller ports. On top of that, Analogue has teamed up with 8BitDo once again to design a wireless controller that replicates the feel of the classic N64 gamepad with better ergonomics.

Priced at $249.99, the Analogue 3D is a product designed for hardcore enthusiasts who appreciate high-quality retro gaming hardware. Available in both black and white, the console can play N64 cartridges from any region and also supports original N64 accessories.
