Dream Pools: Liminal Space Artworks by Jared Pike
Published Apr 16, 2024
Dream Pools is a series of digital creations by Jared Pike which delves into the concept of liminal spaces and unsettling nostalgia through endless pool environments.
This visual exploration transcends the ordinary, inviting viewers to dive into a realm where the boundaries between dream and reality blur. Through the use of Blender 3D and LuxCoreRender, Jared crafted boundless pool environments that are both somewhat familiar and profoundly unnerving.
The project leans heavily on the idea of liminal spaces, those thresholds between the known and the unknown, the conscious and the subconscious. Jared’s attention to lighting, texture and composition plays a crucial role in setting the mood, with each element carefully calibrated to evoke a sense of getting lost.
